Why I design

I’ve always loved building things.

As a kid it was Lego and K’Nex. Then websites. Then apps. I even studied to become a civil engineer, designing bridges and buildings.

What excited me wasn’t the medium, it was the ambition to solve problems that make people’s lives better.

I’ll never forget when my parents got their first iPad. They’d barely touched a computer before, yet within minutes they were using it effortlessly. Watching technology disappear like that, just working, was when I understood what great product design really is.

I started as a software engineer before moving into product design, caring as much about defining the problem as designing the solution.

Through research, strategy, design and prototyping, I speak to users, discover opportunities and solve real problems.

Over the years I’ve been lucky enough to work with world class football clubs, founders and teams, but the thing that keeps me motivated hasn’t changed:

Build products that solve meaningful problems to make people’s lives a little easier.

🙏 Special Thanks

Thank you to mentors Ben Strak (Monzo) and Ryan Shelby (Apple).
